I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
Highlight: the funeral of a dear family friend -- I got to see a whole lot of old friends who I've known since high school and college, and I haven't seen in years.

HOLY CARP!!!
Several highlights:

- I found out my quarterly bonus will be 2.5x more than I was expecting (w00t!)

- Kara has a good lead on a higher paying job that would still allow her to continue her evening classes

- I looked up an old friend, spoke on the telephone, and we'll be hooking up in the near future. We haven't seen each other in ten years, but within the first two minutes on the phone we picked up exactly where we left off, and didn't stop talking for two hours. I love friendships like that.

Past life: A Regency buck with a taste for scandal.

And I'll have a Vitamin Water and sweet potato fries, please.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

Sweet potato fries are good, though....

True 'nuff. But I'm in training. Haven't had much EtOH recently. :(

I think you were actually an Oldsmobile Regency.

Funny!

If you're in training, RR, you should be having a baked sweet potato, nothing fried. Whatcha trainin' for??

Could be... roomy, quiet, fuel-inefficient and underpowered... sounds like me.

I've gotten back into boxing, which is probably the best fitness training regimen there is. I've lost 15 lbs over the past three weeks while still gaining strength, to the point where I'm now able to use the remote control without getting short of breath. :woot:

Good for you. My husband did that for a while, too. Just don't hurt your fingers. They're too important for the piano AND the remote.

Opps, got the wrong patio, R2.  The wife and I went to Mad Mex and drank good beer at happy hour prices.

Best thing this week was getting the lawn tractor running for another year (the beast is 30 years old).

If I had a previous life, I was probably an Irish navvy come over to dig canals in England.

Which Mad Mex wuz you at? The super Mad Mex burrito with tofu is one of my most favorite entrees. That and a Big Azz margarita. My husband gets the angry hippy burrito.

Such interesting things you people do during the week. Congrats again, MS.

Sorry I didn't respond to your post earlier, R2. I had never visited their website. That's rather fun.

We were in Cranberry. I was drinking Sierra Neveda ESB and my wife had Lagunitas Maximus IPA. She ate the Mahi Mahi Salad Salad and I had the Grilled Chicken Torta. We shared a plate of San Francisco wings for an appetizer.

It's really a pretty good deal for happy hour.
