Video and tanning. Contrary to what you hear, video stores are still doing fine, except in large cities. Tanning brings in a lot, plus merchandise related to the two. |

Years ago a keyboard player acquaintance of mine had a houseboat that he kept a Hammond B3 on, among other things. He apparently enjoyed going out onto the lake with some of his musician friends, getting stoned, and playing music all night. One night during a wild night of partying, playing, etc. somehow or other they sank the houseboat. I didn't know the guy well, just an acquaintance. But I did see the B3 after it had been pulled out of the lake... it was literally packed with mud. The case was ruined, of course. But they took the back off the organ and hosed it out with a garden hose, refilled the oil tank, let it dry, plugged it up - and it played. |

Fulla-Carp
|
Larry, My uncle Tony, a guy I think you'd have liked, always liked keeping himself in the game. He was into everything - several businesses and organizations - enough to keep 3 people busy. Near the end of his life, after becoming disabled (aged 91), he told one of my brothers, "enjoy it while you can. There will come a day when you'll miss it, even the guys you hated. He meant it. On the other hand, you owe to yourself to make it easier on you. You've been successful enough that you should hire someone to do the ugly stuff. Hope this carp gets cleaned up soon. Hope too you have a good tax attorney. K |

I have a good tax attorney. I just try to do a lot of stuff myself, and then take it to her. I'm just tired. There are things I want to do but can't. I'm spending far too much of my time doing things I don't want to do, most of which don't benefit me in the least. You can't make a dime in the trucking business right now, and I fear it will get worse. I'm more worried about that than I am the video stores. |

Why don't you do that now? Why wait? |
| I cite irreconcilable differences. | |
