Surprised somebody else hasn't latched on to this one... Many staples are up 15%. I've heard a pretty good rumor that cooking oil prices may double. Now, the usual solution to a lot of this would be to lay in a larger vegetable garden this year...seed costs seem to also be higher (supply and demand, you now), plus fertilizer prices have gone up dramatically. If this keeps up, I reckon I'll have to go back to doing things the old way...open pollination seeds, stomp fertilize, dent corn and puttin' up hay... |
