I should not have objected when you posted Christian sermons here. I'm sorry. Everyone should be free to post whatever they want. |

I spent all day fighting for Crash's right to be free to post anything. It got me thinking. It doesn't' matter how much Larry objects to the content, Crash should be free. I love it when the ACLU fights for people's right to say unpopular things. So how can I object to anyone's else's content? Short of pron and other's personal info I think posting ANY content is okay. At the same time we are all free to post that we take issue with the content, but I feel nobody should be *prevented* from posting stuff. |

JF, you'd understand if people like you were not allowed to marry etc. etc. etc., largely because of group X's influence, and group X was preaching here. But I digress. I should have limited my post to *responding* to the content rather than *objecting to the posting* of the content. For *objecting to the posting* I apologize to Dewey and to the community. Everyone should be free to post anything - then take their lumps. |

Kenny, I DO understand and I DO support your right to marry. At the same time, I recognize that some good people aren't there yet. It needs a bit more time. Thirty years ago, there may be a similar transition about race. Today, there is no excuse. Thirty years from now, there will be no excuse for orientation discrimination either. It's wrong today, but I am willing to give others time to catch up. I know it is harder for you to be patient, and i understand, but you gain nothing by condemning everything Christian. jf |

Condemning everything Christian is not my goal. I apologize if I come across that way. Clearly I need to adjust my tone. My goal is merely to bring attention to how Christianity disguises bigotry as morality, and makes its followers oblivious to the injustice my group suffers today. When Christian churches preach pro equality instead of anti equality, and American vote equality into law we will have arrived and I will shut up. Again, my objecting to what anyone posts here was wrong of me. |

The problem Kenny is not with Christianity but rather with the dogmatic superstitions that people have built around it. According to scripture Jesus Christ appears to have had no problem with Gay folks. He did however have a problem with bankers and money grubbers. What you have to deal with now unfortunately is the nonsense of what that guy Paul of Tarsus made up and that which Bishop Iraneus later left uncensored or edited for the unwashed to read. |

One of the things I love about you Kenny. Your willingness to think about things, and possibly change your mind. There are some that see that as a weakness, I see it as a sign of an intelligent, thinking, caring, human being. Good on ya, pal. |

Kenny, I forgave you for that a long time ago. Of course, if you have a taste for irony, look at the friendly battle going on in this current thread at Dewey's Place. At the moment, the replies are piling up almost as deep as the snow is outside my window. I can't give the most current ones the detailed replies they deserve, since I'm simultaneously trying to finish tomorrow's sermon and figure out if we're even going to hold a worship service due to the blizzard. The online chatting has to take a back seat for a little bit. |

Dewey, I haven't gone to your link yet but I just wanted to add that I've never had anything personal against you. I remember you even said you changed your stance regarding gay marriage. I like you. I've always liked you, a lot - in a huntin and fishin way. You are a good guy with a good heart - the most important thing. People's position on issues including religion are much less important than what's their heart. You can feel what's in people's hearts. But next, totally separate from me and you, there is reality. Gays are screwed by society. The solution is in the voting box and religion is a major force working to push equality as far as possible into the future. They very successfully disguise it as morality. Several here on this forum have swallowed this distortion hook line and sinker. They don't even realize it. I have a dream too. |

I think Kenny's OK, it's nice of him to carry an olive branch to Dewey. As for Dewey. . . I must confess that when he ran off, I felt like several of us ended up fighting for him, while he ran off to the choir room to hide. And I have not spoken to him since. Oh well, my problem I guess. |
