Nah....I don't buy into a lot of Freudian psychology, anyway.

What I do find interesting, however, is how prim and proper our young lad can be...either at his own website or at a heavily moderated forum such as WTF, and then can spend his evening at TNCR talking about masturbating and dicking strippers.

I wonder if he discusses his imaginary escapades with his piano professors?....and another thing, not peculiar to Crashtest....anything you put up on the net is fair game for anybody who wishes to use it against you.

Some of the stuff he puts up here, or some of the stuff that a lot of people his age throw up on their MySpace or Facebook pages can certainly come back and bite you, both in the personal and the professional.

I'm having a hard time finding Crash's posts any more offensive to women, or potentially career ruining than some of the stuff the rest of us talk about here. All those boob jiggling avatarts, and some of the thread subjects we all get great giggles about - they really are not all that different. We may not want to talk about such things as often, but I do think we should be a bit careful about pointing too many fingers. You know - pots and kettles and all.

Perhaps that's because you "know" the "real" Crash, jodi. You can see the funny side because you know there is more to him. For some of us here, this is all we get, and it's of no more use to us than a chocolate teapot.

A note, or two about ruining one's career....my career is a done deal. I suspect that's true for a lot of us...we're as far as we are going to go, or want to go.

Crash, OTOH, is trying to get his started. And he doesn't want to be the next rock star (in that case some of this stuff might be helpful), but a classical musician. I may be a bit off, but I just can't conjure up an image of the judges at Van Cliburn getting onto "teh train" and admiring Crash's jerk-off prose...

Jolly, you'd be surprised at how classical musicians are. People are smarter than you are giving them credit for. And I find this entire thread reprehensible, and utterly lacking in any thing that can be termed of interest.

I have a keen ability to ignore anything you post - as it's usually a link to some boring article, but at least you are getting a little more interesting with this, I'll give you that much.

This I highly doubt. Jolly is more perceptive than you are giving him credit for.

How many people make a living composing, or performing classical music on the piano?

Precious few.

And a lot of that depends upon sponsorship, and the donor money that flows into the venues where such a performer makes his music. Twenty year-olds don't fund orchestras, Crash.

Look behind you. A person with your talent and your dreams is not unique. On some levels and in some places, they are ubiquitous. Talent is not cream, for even great talent does not always rise to the top.

There are lots of ways to kill off a promising career before it starts. Even us dumb old country boys know that...

FWIW, I don't know Crash any more that I know you. (and for the record, I never said I thought his women threads were funny, and I quit reading most of them a long time ago)

I just don't think that his threads are any worse than some of the other threads that get started around here. I think Crash is a "last word kind of guy", I think he loves it when people come back for more, and I think that the best way to deal with that type of behavior is to completely ignore it. I realize, however, that when one" last word kind of guy" gets into it with another "last word kind of guy", we are all toast, and the thread will go on forever and ever and ever and... :D :D :D

No, and it probably shouldn't have been made public here. On the otherhand, there are so many cross posters at WTF, and PW - where Crashtest posted his Website - that it's really splitting hairs.

The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. AFAIK, pique has never made her name public here, either.

However, if you don't want your name made public, don't lay it out on the net. That is part of my initial argument in this thread...

Like I said, it's splitting hairs. I don't think you did anything wrong, and you're right: if you don't want people to know who you are, don't put personal info on the Web.

Everything we write here will be archived for eternity. In 50 years from now, you will still find this connection between what he posts here and his real name. His childs and grandchilds will find all this when they google (or whatever is fashionable then) his name.

For this reason I think it is not fair to make such a permanent connection, even if the poster has revealed his identity in other contexts.

Yes he has.

A couple years ago, he actually started a sockpuppet using his real name as the username.

He's posted his recordings here, and his real name is part of the URL.

That being said....

I remember a few years ago, Radu posted some bangy piano recording, and as a joke listed me (using my full name) as the composer. Of course, since he knew my name, I must have made it public somehow (probably in my recording links, or by putting a link to my website in my profile). It was actually very annoying to see him post my name like that, even if I had already posted it myself.

Jodi, you're correct that some of us post some pretty nasty stuff. But there *is* a difference. For example - out of all the off color stuff I've posted, can you recall a thread I started where the purpose of the thread was to discuss it? Can you recall anyone else doing it? Nope. It's one thing to mention a pecker as part of a joke during a discussion about something else, but it's an entirely different thing to literally start a thread asking people to give you advice on how to jerk off.

Secondly, out of those of us who post things that are less than "polite"... do you know of any of us who try to make people believe it's a true story, and who then engage in private discussions with people in an effort to get them to offer help and assistance with this supposedly "real" issue? Nope.

It isn't just that Crash posts off color stuff. It's how he does it, why he does it, the constant disrespect toward women that is evident in it, the fact that much of it he tries to pass off as real, and the drawing people into his sick little game through private messaging them to further play with the members here.

As you can see from his posts since this started, he has absolutely no intention of taking responsibility for his actions. He knows full well that there will be enough people who will rush to his defense, enough people just waiting for the chance to jump me for something, which diverts attention away from him, a few people who just flat out aren't smart enough to sort it all out anyway, and that the majority of the people who are fed up with his crap just don't have the stomach for going up against the cat herding mess one has to deal with because of all this.

That's why I hit him over the head with so much noise. Anything less would have been a waste of time.

The fact that Crash has let his name be known is a better indication than ever of his reality and transparency, however one might view that. An alternate reality one might argue, but no worse than that.

All this crap over his posts needs to stop.
