Kenny, dammit - this isn't about "controlling others". This is about having taken all I could take. You may think sitting on your hands is the way to do things, but I don't. If you piss on my shoes, you're going to hear about it. That's not trying to "control" you - that's telling you to stop pissing on my shoes.

Stop putting your foot in Crash's pee path by reading his posts.

Ignore him.

Easy.

No.

You didn't seem to feel a need to ignore Dewey when you didn't like what he was posting. You didn't seem to feel a need to ignore people who said something about homosexuals you didn't like. Well, I don't like seeing people used. Deal with it.

The man's got a point here - it deserves consideration.

This is not an answer and you know it. I can sya the same about the apparent sock puppet posts. It is very easy to differentiate between "CrashTest" and "Crash Test" so don't read anything from the obvious imitation.

And to answer CrashTests original complaint - poor little boy, is someone writing bad things about you. Why don't you run back to mama and hide. Ooooh Larry's been banned at other forums, and now he's picking on me. Please help me I can't take it. Ban him. Ban him. Pretty please so I can get back to printing my threads full of verbal diahrea.

1hp,

While I personally agree with jgoo in principal ("just ignore the stuff you can't stand", note that even though I expressed my disapproval of what the "Crash Test" sockpuppet has been created to do, I have never called for the "Crash Test" sockpuppet to be banned), I also believe that you have a legitimate question to raise on what sort of forum rules and moderation mechanisms should (or should not) be put in place to deal with the "nasty sockpuppet" problem.

This particular thread is very specific to "Larry" and very specific to this "fake Crash Test" incident. So I'll let this thread focus on this specific "fake Crash Test" incident.

I'd much prefer to address the "nasty sockpuppet" issue in more general terms. So, time permitting, I might start a new thread to address the "sockpuppet and forum rule/moderation" issues later.

And here's the new thread:

How do you guys find time to post all this stuff. This thread started on Thursday evening and has run continuous through now. I added a couple of posts yesterday morning before work, but no way I had any time during the day to read, let alone write anything. Am I in the wrong job or something?

And when I got home last night my better half demanded attention, so no way the computer was looked at. You must all be single, else you're ignoring spouses/BF's/GF's.

It's worse than that. Most of us are married.

What's 13th stepping?
Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness where you continue to perceive, to understand, to laugh, and to be able to grow.
