My position is simple: you jumped to an unwarranted conclusion and slung mud on an issue where none was deserved. Quirt 03/08/09

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Predictable - convenience and finance versus sanctity.

Terrifying and contemptible.

HOLY CARP!!!
Utilitarian ethics versus classical ethics. The dialectical struggle between selecting the greater good for the most over the common good for all.

I disagree with that article. People are inherently good...to the core. Only a small minority are sociopaths or truly "evil"

It seems that this article sought to prove that human life has been devalued in today's society. Not true.

Only a total pessimist or cynic could walk down that path. I trust human nature.

There have been right at 50 million abortions performed since 1973 in the US alone. If that doesn't devalue human life I don't know what does.

Larry, I have been on all sides of this. I am myself adopted (thank you whoever you are) I also have been unfortunate enough to get a woman pregnant (20 years ago) who decided to have an abortion...It hurts me even now to think.

Happily I am also a proud father.

When people refer to the abortion issue I get a little defensive. I tried tp convince my (old) girlfriend to have the baby...but I was unable to sway her. In the end she did what she did. I understand that telling a woman to carry to term is not going to be a sure thing. Now try and *legislate* a woman's right to choose...and you'll always lose.

Some people use statistics to illuminate...others to confuse. Do you think that before 1973 (Roe v Wade) that there were NO abortions? I bet you the rates were similar...just that women died in the process.

I would bet you that 200 years ago it was the same. Women terminate their pregnancies in many ways...including suicide.
