Do you collect things?

HOLY CARP!!!
I collect glass bottles, but not the kinds that are designed and sold for collectors (although I did go to an antique shop once where I bought a bottle in the shape of a guitar). When I do my regular shopping at the supermarket, or when I'm at a café somewhere, I always look for juices, sodas, etc that come in oddly-shaped glass bottles. So everything in my collection (except for the guitar bottle, and a wine bottle that my parents gave me), I've actually used myself.

I collect navel lint. One day my wife will be able to knit me a sweater.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

Wrinkles. And pounds.

Given the recent exchange rates that's probably not a bad idea.

Years.

I have quite a few in my collection now.
Some bad ones, but mostly wonderful ones.

I like to look at them and reflect.

I have small collections of a number of things that interest me. Antique dolls. Perfume bottles. Victorian silver spoons. Antique illustrated children's books. Old postcards showing views of my hometown. Items from the luggage factory my family owned.

Pretty soon I'm going to have to start selling things off because there is no more room for them in this house.

You guys should post pics.

BTW we do collect small vases.

We have a tradition of finding them at antique or thrift stores (they cannot be new) and giving them for birthdays, etc.

I don't collect similar objects, but I do have a collection of 'show pieces'... stuff that is related to a show I've done. I generally have one thing that someone has given me that is a memento from the show. I have a bell and some silk camelias from two different productions of Traviata (it's based on Camille, and Violetta rings a bell in the second act, so someone gave me a beautiful bell). I have a pink sheep from Candide, a little bottle of poison (not real) from Romeo and Juliet, a crown that I wore in Magic Flute, things like that. All worthless to anyone but me.

OMG! Do I collect things? You should see my garage!!!

Seriously, I am the kind of person who loves tools. I have all kinds of woodworking and automotive repair tools. I am also a quilter and collect fabrics and items for embellishing my (art) quilts.

I have been teased for quilting, it is not very "manly". I will edit this post with a photo of one of my quilts.

Free Rider, the quilting thing is cool, can't wait to see some photos.

My youngest son loves to stitch. His little fingers are amazingly good at it.
