Lifestyle magazine, a publication that serves Pennsylvania's Delaware Valley area, published a nice story this week reporting how a long awaited veteran's cemetery is finally underway in Buck's County, Penn. Oh, the story seems nice enough, but there is one problem. The photo accompanying the story shows a soldier, circa WWII, in near silhouette trotting across a wintry field, rifle in hand. That there is a photo of a soldier from WWII tacked onto a story about a new veteran's cemetery isn't the problem.

Can anyone spot the problem?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Nope. And, I would have expected you to spell it "honour." :cool2:

Other than the fact it is a photo is of what appears to be a German soldier, I can't see anything wrong.

Ding! We have a winner!

Later in the article, they say this:

"Currently, there are only three national veteran’s cemeteries in Pennsylvania. There is one near Pittsburgh, another northeast of Harrisburg, and the third, which is not taking any new internments, in Philadelphia."

Uh, the word is interment.

This is someone who had an internment:

George - do you know how hard it was for me to type honor without the U? :P

Ok - how did you know that was a German soldier?

Shows German soldier

Also:"The picture entitled “The site in Upper Makefield where the new cemetery will be constructed” has a picture of a farmers field in winter with a German WWII Infantryman (most likely SS in summer uniform). How can I tell? He has a German WWII helmet (very distinctive), he carries a standard German WWII Mauser rifle and has a standard German canteen and cup. He is in summer uniform as his sleeves are rolled up. The SS wore helmet covers.

Did the German invade Bucks County? And are we building a cemetery to them? "
