Mark and Ron Paul; ... and the republican debate

Mark, you mentioned in another thread that you were angry with Foxnews and the questions that were asked of Ron Paul. I wanted to offer a perspective, but those threads have meandered too much.

Ron Paul, even if he doesn't win, is essential. In the debate, he fielded the questions and gave thoughtful succinct answers which made everyone listening reflect on "what IS a republican?" He was able to redirect answers to key points he wanted to make, and in that I think he was completely successful. He has the guts to say what people (especially those "republicans" on stage) do not want to hear. He is, at the end of the day, requiring everyone to think.

People are smart enough to look past, or through, the intent of the questioner.

If Romney had a blond wig, he'd be a republican Hillary. If Thompson had a blond wig, he'd be. . . incredibly ugly. :D

McCain knows that his biggest challenge, if he comes anywhere close to getting the nomination, is yet to come: discussions regarding his health. This attack will come either from within, or from the dems, but it WILL come.

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you know that what you are doing in your support of Paul, the message you are bringing to voters, the issues that you raise, are very much appreciated.

As I mentioned above, the Ron Paul movement and YOU being so involved in it, are requiring people to think. And that is VERY important.

And I am at this point as an independent, totally undecided.

That's really where I am too, Rainman. I know which candidates' views I lean towards, but really... I'm trying to keep an open mind and listen to all of them. I also agree with your perspective on Ron Paul. Well said. :)

Believe it or not, I am as well.

I know Thompson is going to be out, and with his absence I have not ruled out any candidates yet.

I have liked McCain for years and agree with him on much. I like Giuliani's leadership style and communication ability. I like Romney's views, but dont think he is congenial enough to resonate with the american people. I like Paul's passion and honesty, and most of his views as well. They pull at my conservative-libertarian political core. I like Huckabee's personality. I like McCain's daughter.

I agree with your sentiment regarding Ron Paul, Rainman.
Ron Paul aside, I also have similar sentiment regarding Kucinich on the Dem side.

I agree.

As long as he doesn't get nominated or elected to anything. :whome:

It wouldn't be any worse than some of the idiots fine professionals appointed to various posts by the Bush Administration.

You've apparently forgotten the idiots Clinton appointed to his. Does Madalyn Halfbright ring any bells for you? How about that mountain of wisdom Janet Renal?...

And of course, Her Thighness is running around claiming she was actually running the show back then, so you have to include her in the list.....

I'd take Madeline Albright any day over John ("SCREW YOU, JUST DO IT OUR WAY YOU IDIOTS!!!" Bolton).

And please. Don't even try to compare Janet Reno and Alberto Gonzales. As Attorney General, he wasn't even good enough to scrub her toilet.

Of course you would, Quirt. She's still an idiot, and so was Reno. Gonzales was twice the AG she was.

This is your second swipe at Guiliani because he dressed in drag at a political roast ten years ago and at the mayor's party in 2000 in two days.

Do you have a problem with that? If so, why?

If not, why the repeated comments?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.
