Do you bring a lunch to work, or go out?

I bet they don't serve up anything with red sauce either.

Bah, carpy night.

Got done in the OR at about 8. Went to my room at 9, and tossed and turned 'til 11 or so, unable to fall asleep. Awakened at 1AM by my friend the General Surgeon who had an appendectomy to do. I got out of bed, to discover I couldn't get out of bed.

Somehow, I twisted my back - unable to stand without support. I don't think it's my disc (too high), but horrible pain in the left lat. Managed to get though the case, with everyone else doing all the heavy lifting (pt. weighed 240), and back to bed at 3:30. While in bed, no pain. While sitting in a chair, no pain. Standing - no can do. So, it's the chair, ice and antinflammatories for me today. Good thing I'm off today and the weekend.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Ouch... sorry to hear that. Can relate.

The 50's are hell like that. All that 'realization of mortality' I went through in the 40's have given way to 'evidence of decay'. Ugh.

At least I'll be able to waste time here. Electrician's here doing some maintainence work, Mrs. George is doing the supervision while I sit here.

Yeah, it's too early for spirits, so we take comfort where we find it. Good coffee, the wife supervising the electrician, and Beethoven piano trios playing in the background. If my f*cking back didn't hurt, it would be heaven. I haven't hurt like this in years.
