Almost always out to lunch. It's nice to get out of the office.

I go out always. Maybe once or twice a week I sit down somewhere and get served, the other days I grab a sandwich from the deli or a gyro from the local streetmeat vendor and bring it back to the office. But I always eat, and I never bring it in.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

I always pack my food for the day. When I have class that night, that means that I cart around all my meals and snacks for the day in a bag. It's a pain, but it's cheaper. Coffee, however, I'll allow myself to buy freely. :)

I usually either pack a lunch or go home. Sometimes I go out, but not often.
And how are you today?

Almost always out to lunch. It's nice to get out of the office.

Me too, every day. It's my one chance during the day to catch up on reading, so I'll try to go somewhere where nobody will find me. (If co-workers see me sometimes they're compelled to sit down with me. Sounds a bit anti-social not to want to eat lunch with them, but that's my time, dammit!)

There's a Quizno's around here that sits behind a huge band of road construction. You can't see any signs from the road so unless you actually walk behind the construction curtain you wouldn't know it was there. Been going there a lot, lately.

I'm having trouble getting my customers to send me the data we need to proceed and to approve what has been done already. S'ok by me as long as they keep paying the invoices.

So I can do long lunch daily. Which I have been doing at the gym.

You should not set yourself up like that.

AL -- we are made from some of the same stuff.

I went to the library with my boys yesterday with my music theory and fiction book, ready for an hour of quiet reading. I was disappointed when I got stuck in a conversation.

About 10-12 years ago, during a particularly busy day in the OR, a surgeon who had 12 hours of surgery scheduled finished a case at about 11:30, and announced that he's going to the cafeteria for lunch. He was gone an hour. Within a week, the administration approved food service to bring us lunches in the OR. Carpy sandwiches usually (especially the Wednesday chicken salad), but it's free and convenient.

I am aghast at the things that cross my mind when thinking about people eating in the OR.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

We were in the midst of an autopsy and couldn't break for lunch, and at the moment, I wasn't needed to assist with anything, so I broke out my PBJ sammich, some potato chips, and some cookies, and had lunch while organs were being weighed.

The others in the room were.... a little grossed out. But it was crunchy peanut butter with strawberry jam. Tasty....

In the lounge, of course. Food is verboten in the actual OR, of course. (Though I have been known to munch on some hard candy during really long cases :ph43r: )
