supporters here? In all seriousness, what do you see in him? I was genuinely hoping that Kerry would endorse Edwards. That would have hopefully placed the final nail into the Edwards campaign. I try to listen to him, but I just can't without either cracking up laughing or walking away in disgust. What is it? |

I don't mind him at all. I mentioned this before, but I met 'em briefly about a year ago. It was right before he announced his running for President. He was very straightforward and honest with everybody. He seems to have lost that a bit on television but overall I have no problem with him personally. I don't think he's the villain people make him out to be. Unfortunately, I disagree with just about every single one of his policies, opinions and beliefs, so I'm not even going to consider voting for him. |

I like the man. I think he's smart. I think he's well-spoken. I agree with him on a great many things. But he's too strident for my taste. |

I actually know him pretty well... And he is (and maybe other politicians are, I don't know,) a really well meaning an wonderful guy. To be honest--I'd turn in to a Mark or a kathy for him. Maybe that's just how politics works. Astute point there, Quirt. |

Mmmmmmm, pie!
|
John Edwards may be smart, but he's still about the most ignorant person politically on the stage. Also, he has that "North Caroline snob" accent that just grates the hell out of me. And, his political views are repulsive. |

Anyone who is with Ann Coulter on anything needs a chemical decontamination shower afterwards. |

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

I was much more of a supporter until I saw how glibly and earnestly he became Kerry's attack dog in 2004, after campaigning on a totally different platform. It was just a bit too much of a chameleon routine for my tastes. I think it was an unfortunate choice for him because he had potential. |

I remember somebody asked him about that. He didn't deny it, and said that that's how he viewed his role as running mate. I wouldn't call that a chameleon routine, since he seems to acknowledge the change and has a reasonable explanation for it. |

IMO he should not have taken the VP spot. He'd have had a much better chance today. He signed on with a guy whose platform was diametrically opposed from his own, which means he has no convictions stronger than moving up. |

How clever. This must be the sort of inventive response your lads are talking about when they brag about how smart you are. Why, you managed to come up with an entire word that was different from the words I used! |

Quirt, for all his wonderful qualities, definitively lacks a sense of humor. I'll give him this--he KNOWS humor exists, but for some reason, he just can't grasp it's sensibilities (or rather insensibilities.) |
