He's an A-hole in my book.

Really? How's come?

HOLY CARP!!!
As an ordinary citizen--he could do what he wants. As someone who wants to be President of the United States--that's a stupid thing to do.

Stupid. A stunt like that will lose him the election. And it should.

Matter of fact....that's my prediction.

Yup, stupid.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

What a f'cktard, by the way... Jeez... Yet another reason why I won't vote for this assclown. Also, let me add that that was the most hideous rendition of our national anthem that I've ever heard in my entire life. That was f'ckin' hideous!!

:lol2: Sorry... Pet peeve of mine, especially since it's become such a ubiquitous mistake, and it seems to be everywhere...

Well c'mon guys, you're not going to vote for him because he didn't put his hand over his heart? How is that an indication of anything, other than slight oversight?

I'm not voting for him either, but I'd like to think I have better reasons?

It's part of the job.

It's OK for an ordinary slob to slouch like that, not a presidential candidate.

Acting like an ordinary slob is no crime, but it's not what I want in a commander-in-chief.

I can guarantee you every single U.S. commander-in-chief has had their share of blunders as offensive.

The US Flag Code says: when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

What happens if you don't? How serious is this?
Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness where you continue to perceive, to understand, to laugh, and to be able to grow.

Commander In Chief of the armed forces, the leader of our nation, the President Of The United States. Hrmmm.... Seems to be some titles that call for allegiance, or at least, some goddamned common sense and a sense of propriety. If he can't even behave properly HERE, with what hideous lack of respect will he show as a guest in other countries?

As someone who wishes to attain the office that he's striving for, it's the kiss of death.

It does seem a little foolhardy. Perhaps he's deaf and no one tapped him on the shoulder.

He's an A-hole in my book.

Damn. And I'm sure you would have voted for him if he'd put his hand over his heart for the Pledge.

I wasn't going to vote for him anyway, but this pretty much clinches it, for me.

Yeah, I'm thinking that too. Most folks who treat it as a big deal didn't seriously consider voting for him anyway. Most folks who would are going to treat this as nothing serious.

I know it's not the most important thing in the world.

But it is kinda like someone applying to be a baseball team's coach and forgetting how many outs are in an inning. There are just certain things you need to know and do in such a leadership position.

I think the vast majority are undecided. This IS going to sway a lot of people.

Sure are. But I don't consider putting your hand over your heart one of them.

I don't see that as detrimental to any part of his job whatsoever, other than respecting the sensibilities of people who think it's important to put one's hand over one's heart.

True, of course.

But there are LOTS of undecideds out there. We should get this information out to them, don't you think? Nothing better than an informed decision.
