Daniel, what do you think about vaginas?

Daniel, do you remember when you decided to stay out of these discussions because it seems to bring out the worst in other people as well as the worst in you?

That was a smart decision.

Yes, I was writing FACETIOUSLY

facetious

Treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant
Pleasantly humourous, jocular

-------------------------------

This word uses all five vowels just once and in alphabetical order (others are abstemious, abstentious, annelidous, arsenious, casesious and fracedinous). If y is counted as a vowel, then facetiously uses all six vowels in alphabetical order.

Ever since I came to my latest conclusion regarding communicating on line, I've found I can look at volatile subjects from a different perspective and not let them get to me. As a result, so far, I've been hugely successful at refraining from wading in and engaging in flame wars, because I can see the words posted on these forums as distorted, incomplete communication, lacking "human" context.

Yeah, so what?

I feel there ought to be a purpose for my everyday interactions with others, and I ought to be aware of what it is. For me, it's the pursuit of enriching the lives of others, as I would appreciate - but not expect - the same from them. It is often said that people's positions don't change in the course of internet arguments, ever. If that's the case, why get ugly about it? What purpose is served, by getting angry over the mere words, in the broader scheme of life?

I've decided for myself that futility is not a life goal, so I'd much rather just get along with as many people as I can around these parts.

Sincerely,

[The former] Nasty Snake*

*Peggy, I'm just using that as a humorous reference - I don't mean anything else by that. :)

Then I apologize.

This kind of carp really unsettles me and disgusts me.

And, no, it's not because Daniel is gay. It's because we all KNEW how it was going to turn out and he was DELIBERATELY provoked. It makes me ill to my stomach that some people could find joy in that. And I believe there is at least one person who has found joy in it.

Regardless of whether  I was posting or not at the time my name got dragged into a turd fest thread, does it matter whether I was anywhere near the thread in question?

As I said, I called him on it at the time. When you started posting again, however, that is when I saw it as different.

And I do appreciate that.

Daniel, Larry takes shots at you because you are predictable in the way you react.

What bugs me, is that Klaus and Quirt, myself in the past, and a few others, have tried to help you and have offered advice, but you turn around and smack them for it. Not exactly the way to foster goodwill and support... And taking a shot at Mik's wife was really over the top.  :(

Quirt was wrong in his interpretation of what Mik said as even Mik later admitted and I am sure that if Quirt thinks that I was overly personal with him that he will tell me. I am sure you know this. :)

Klaus was flat out wrong, both about what Mik said, and in accusing me of inventing things, etc.

If I can say, I think you have a double standard. You always look at me negatively. I don't know why you do it. I honestly try not to think about it. I like you and I want to continue to get along with you. I try to avoid getting into arguments with you and I think I have done that pretty well.

But it is times like this that test me.

JOKING, Frank. Joking, it's fine.

I admitted NOTHING, except perhaps in your mind. You may INTERPRET something I said as being some sort of admission to whatever, but it never happened.

For the record:

Peggy said:

"I presume to irritate Daniel."

You said:

"It's ok. He can just... ahem... cleanse... and have that spring-fresh feeling again."
------------------------------------------------

And then this exchange between Mik and myself:

Mik said:

"It must be awful to be you."

I said:

"Hey, you are the one that made the vile remark, not me. I can't think it's any picnic being inside your mind."

And Mik's response:

"Yeah, Daniel - and you and your buddies NEVER make breeder jokes, do you? Of course you do. My gay friends joke around about their sexuality it all the time. The reason it bothers you is because you hate yourself for it."

The reason you got dragged into the turdfest was because the turdfest was over lies *you* had been and were still telling about *me*. So don't try to pretend you were some innocent being maligned behind your back - you were using proxies to do your dirty work.

No, it has nothing to do with Daniel being gay. But you are wrong to say I deliberately provoked him. Well, half wrong, anyway. Sure I started this thread to provoke him, but I started it after he provoked *me* in another thread, accusing me of things that weren't true. So, I pushed his buttons.

What I'd like to know is, how did you get him to flip off the camera?
