On "This Week With George Stephanopolous" he fawns and calls her "Americas most famous Senator." She says that Bill will have no formal role in a Clinton White House. Then, shockingly, she says, "I was intimately involved in what went on in the White House...I had direct access to all the decision makers...I was briefed on a range of issues, and provided classified information." Video here: http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4066505 WTF???? What was her security clearance when she was First Lady? |

Perhaps you should ask the FBI or the Office of Personnel Management. I'm not aware that they are in the business of publicizing each individual's security clearance or when they received it, though. |

FWIW, I think the First Lady generally does, by necessity, have to have an equivalent security clearance as the POTUS. I'm not sure how much authority the First Lady has, but I doubt many presidents got by without the counsel of their wives. Just sayin'..... |

I'm with you, Frank. For example, didn't Wilson's wife actually run the country for a while? |

You're OK with that? Isn't there a mechanism for transfer of power if the President is incapacitated (like in the operating room)? I know about the rumors about Wilson's wife - I found it appalling. You'd be OK with Laura running things while Bush is out of commission for a while? We didn't elect her. As to security clearance, I can't ask the FBI, but I can tell you what The New York Times said: "...during those two terms in the White House, Mrs. Clinton did not hold a security clearance." And I can tell you what Clinton told the New York Times: "She said she did not attend National Security Council meetings, nor did she have a security clearance" |

Hrmmm... Man, George. I just don't know. As far as chain of command goes, I thought it was President, then if incapacitated, power falls to the Vice President, and failing that, then command falls to Speaker Of The House. (President Pulosi? *shudder*)

The first lady would need security clearance high enough to immunize her against the times her husband talks in his sleep. In the particular case of Bill Clinton he would probably need secret service protection around the clock for the same reason. |

I don't understand how anything the Clintons do could scare anybody more than Nancy Reagan's astrologer. |

Bush doesn't have an imaginary friend - and Nancy Reagan's astrologer didn't try to help her create a socialist state. |
