I wouldn't eat a blue steak. I want food to be normal looking.

It is interesting think about how we perceive food colors. Why are Cheetos bright orange?

HOLY CARP!!!
Remember Crystal Pepsi?

I tried it a couple of times, but it didn't taste right. I'm convinced it was because my brain couldn't deal with the fact that it was clear, and cola should not be clear.

Maybe I should read the article before I post! But that was the first thing I thought of.

No, you don't have to read the article...it just discusses the topic.

I have a hard time with the Gatorade colors nowadays....blue? Theres even one that is spot-on anti-freeze.

Why are Cheetos bright orange?

They almost certainly need something that garish to cover up their true nature.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

You mean that cheetos are really some post-industrial waste product that's been extruded into little coils and dusted with MSG and orange food coloring?

I'm having more difficulty with the idea that this person apparently eats ketchup on their macaroni and cheese than I have with the idea of blue steak...

Well, I suppose it's kind of like having stewed tomatoes with mac and cheese, but not as good....

 No, no, no. Cheetohs are bright orange, because orange is a happy colour, a carefree colour. A happy, carefree colour, so you feel happy when you stuff your face with them, and carefree so you don't think about how many inches of fat you're adding to your hips. :hat:

Apparently the colors red and yellow make people want to eat more, and blue subdues appetite. I guess that explains the colors of Wendy's, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Arby's, and half of Long John Silver's.
And how are you today?

Most fast food places, and Red Robin/ TGIF sort of places are designed to be acoustically loud, visually busy, and with red colors since the environment makes people more agitated, want to eat more, and want to leave sooner.

Grocery store put the produce section in first since it makes people hungrier to see fresh food.

We actually studied the public manipulation through design in architecture school.

Through muzak too, no? :sing:

I hate those places. I wouldn't be caught dead in one.
