I love Sonic #2 burgers and In-N-Out burgers.

We are in Destin FL tis week, and they have Backyard Burgers and Whataburger, both of which get fine reviews. Any coments among mi compadres?

HOLY CARP!!!
I like them both...totally different things though. Whataburger is a thin fried burger joint...old fashioned usual toppings. Backyard is thick smoky tasting grilled burgers with more upscale toppings availabe. Just depends on what you're hungry for.

IN-N-OUT ROCKS!!!! Back here in Tennessee though, I can't get them, so.... Sonic tides me over until I can get back to Bakersfield, CA. :thumb:

:lol2: Ok, the 'buger' had me laughing already, but the ol' "in and out" burger has me in stitches! I guess if it's a brand name you're used to, it's not so funny, but wow, that imagery could go places. Gotta say, on a marketing scale, the name doesn't inspire greatness. :hat:

Although, after all that, I'm craving a good burger.

No. The world's best burgers are served at McDonald's!

(Full Disclosure: My wife might own a few shares of MCD, but that has nothing to with the 100% objective statement of an indisputable fact that McDonald's serves the best burgers. )

The world's best hamburgers are homemade from fresh (killed same day) beef.

End of story.

End of story.

with a slice of sweet onion and a slice of a tomato just picked from the garden and grilled over charcoal. I like to season mine with a little McCormick's seasoned salt.

The best hamburgers I ever bought were at a bar called Johnson's in Dearborn, Michigan. It was just down the block from a motel I stayed at a few times on business. I'd go in after work, order a beer and a burger, and watch them cook it while I sipped on that first beer. It came out plain and you fixed it the way you liked from a table with tomato, onion, lettuce, cheese, and condiments at the end of the bar. I often ordered a second one just because they were so darn good.

I used to drink once in awhile in Johnson City when I was working in Virginia, because the bars stayed open later. Can't say I ever was in Sammy's Apex. Wish I'd known about it then.

Then you missed the most famous bar in JC! Ask anyone within 50 miles of JC where the best hamburger is, and they'll send you to Sammy's. It's been there for ages, just a dive joint, but they stay packed.

Now - the best pizza is made at Greg's Volcano Pizza about a mile away. They make everything fresh - spin the dough above their heads, the whole deal.. and where most pizza places will lay out the toppings one piece at a time, at Gregs they just scoop up a double hand full and throw it all over the thing.. cheese is grated fresh and piled on until the whole thing is about 3" thick.. yum....

(Now I gotta go see Spider and have a Greg's Pizza.......)

Wish I'd have known that when I was working down there. Yum.

I was just going to say that, IT. You beat me to it. LOL :lol2:

Usually, it's the real classy people that do that. It's usually above the set of hanging "Truck-Nutz"

OK - I had the BY burger. Meh. It was ok.

SONIC #2 AND IN-N-OUT BURGERS ROCK THE HOUSE!!!!

That and my favorite little tavern to eat lunch with Janet, Win Place or Show in Mason. Best burger in Cincinnati, better than Zips (which is dead on an In-N-Out, just smaller).

Accept no substitutes.
