Do you believe that there is intelligent Extra-Terrestrial life?
If so, what do you think would happen if they found Earth?

I think there is a chance that aliens maybe use us for a food source or re-fueling station. Or maybe an intergalactic bypass!

Whatever happened to SETI?

I'm sure we're not alone. The length of time before they contact us will likely depend on how intelligent the life is. If they're really smart it will never happen.

No. There's barely any intelligent life left on earth.

I'm quite convinced that if they do exist and happened to find earth, they would immediately set out help us save the planet by abducting Hillary Clinton and exiling her to the planet Pluto.

If they're eating us, wouldn't some of us be missing? I wonder how much mileage you get out of a human....

Maybe they remote viewed the democrat congress... I'd bypass the place too after that.....

I believe the chance that there isn't some other intelligence in a universe so vast is vanishingly small.

FR,

I don't believe there is ET life out there. If there's anything at all, it's probably in some primordial form and not intelligent.

Eh, decent possibility.

If so, what do you think would happen if they found Earth?
Man, that could go so many ways. Our biggest problem answering that question is that we assume so many similarities between human beings and alien visitors. Enslaving mankind, going to war, spreading of peace and prosperity... these are things we can relate to because we've done them ourselves. I think there's just as good a chance that whatever they end up doing, it won't make a whole lot of sense to us, at least at first.

Whatever happened to SETI?
Oh, SETI is still very much around.

Ever notice that atheists dismiss the existence of God because it requires faith to accept it, but they all believe in aliens because purely based on faith they just *know* they're out there somewhere?......

Secondly, have you ever noticed that when aliens do visit they always land in trailer parks?.....

Great answer to this thread, Aqua. :thumb:

BTW...there is a cool SETI screen saver out there, that connects with other computers in a scientific experiment: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/

One thing is certain - if they begin to show up in many numbers, the democrat party will launch a drive to get them on welfare and give them the right to vote.....

There may be, but I don't believe it to be so. I guess that makes me an asetic.

To answer the question, no. I know the "numbers game" would seem to argue for at least one planet out there where some kind of sentient beings reside. Still, everything I know about earth indicates that we are a miracle, even if one believes in evolution.

Oh, but Chris, intelligent life doesn't have to be anything like humans! Well, hey, I'll give you that. But since I don't think humankind evolved from bacteria (which may well be found in many places) I just don't think there is anything out there at all that is walking around w/some kind of brain.
