HOLY CARP!!!
|
Tonight it's Talisker 18...can't decide if I should keep drinking it or make barbecue sauce...it's really smokey. There's also a strange coal tar thing going on there...I'm not sure I like it, but I can't seem to stop trying.... What do y'all think about this one? |

I think you should send it to me. I haven't had the 18 year old, but I liked the 10 - just not as much as Lagavulin or Laphroaig, but it was cheaper. That being said I've never met booze I didn't like, so maybe my opinion is less worthwhile than our more sophisticated members. |

Yummy. Mrs. Jeffrey's favorite. There is apparently a 30 year out there, but I haven't tried it. I usually like the 10-18 year ones better (I think the older ones get washed out), but Talisker might stand up to the age. |

Finally
|
There are Scotches that one should drink before a steak (such as Glenfarclas). There are Scotches that one should drink after a steak (such as Balvenie). There are Scotches that one should never drink (Glenlivet). And there are Scotches that one should drink with a steak. That's Talisker. It's a bit too peaty/smoky for most times, but, with a good steak....mmmm! |

thanks for the recommends, men....I'm nursing a second and finding that it goes quite nicely with Cheeze Its and wool (I'm knitting in between posts...how's that for being a multi-Talisker!) |

I don't know if I posted this before but another reasonably priced Islay that I like is Bunnahabhain:

geez...I can't believe I said that! What a tart. Bear with me guys, I'm unwinding from a very busy fall semester and savoring some down time before embarking on an even busier spring. That's my disclaimer...if I'm naughty because I'm tipsy Daddy Larry will spank me. All in all, I'd say it's party time! |
