HOLY CARP!!!

I knew a couple who had a full grown Great Pyrenees female named Peaches. I loved her so much! What an amazing dog. I've wanted one ever since. Bear will be a very nice addition to the family. Maybe he'll come in handy when Julia wants to date..... :lol: |
| And how are you today? | |

Thanks!! His full name is Polar Bear, because that's exactly what his parents look like. He's going to be an outdoor dog, I guess. Every time we let him in, he drops elephant-sized logs and stinks up the whole house. LOL I just bought a huge kennel for him, and a "Dog-Gloo," with cedar chips. If it will ever stop raining, I'll be able to go out and put it all together. So far, he's completely destroyed a sliding screen door. Sheesh... Big ol' clumsy oaf... I took him out for a jog this morning, but he isn't used to being on a lead, so he keeps going back and forth, left and right. I gave him his first training lesson in how to sit. He did okay. He's much better at learning how to sh!t, unfortunately... LOL Julia is over the moon for him, but it looks like I've become the de facto master. He wants to be with me, every waking second. |

Cute pup, Frank. Great Pyr are incredibly gentle dogs. My mother has a Great Pyr-yellow lab mix, and that dog wouldn't hurt a fly, not even another dog. |

Awesome!! I've never really thought of myself as a dog person. I've always preferred the ease of care and independence of cats, but what the hell: If I'm going to have a dog, I'm going to have a DOG!! LOL! If I would have had my way, I would have named him Sasquatch. Big and white, he's going to look like the images of the Abominable Snowman. LOL I think he'll probably top out at 80-100 lbs., and he'll put on his full height at 18 months. Off to get a crate for him today, so that we can keep him in the house sometimes, without him being a four-legged wrecking crew. (or crapping everywhere.) LOL |

So far, it's not so bad, and he doesn't eat as much as you might think. Even fully grown, they don't eat much more than a medium-sized dog. ![]() In the kennel, he cries and howls and squalls about being left alone, so I put him in a giant crate in the house, thinking that if he could maybe slowly adjust to being part of the household, he might do better. He just cried and cried. He's back in the kennel. I guess we'll try again, tomorrow. LOL... Eventually, with consistency, he'll start learning some manners. Sheesh...

ours is 5 months, now 14 pounds!!
)

She's been clamoring for a dog for two years, now. She's just turned 10, and dogs and girls are natural allies against the "tyranny" of parents.
