Hello from Queretaro, Mexico!

This is a fabulous city - we got here yesterday, after spending four days in Guanajuato and an afternoon in San Miguel Allende.

Anyway, we're taking plenty of photos and I'll post a full report when we get back.

Cheers!
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

I've heard that San Miguel Allende has some of the most amazing and overwrought Mexican Baroque churches -- pictures please!
The dogma lives loudly within me.

I took several pictures of La Parroquia, the baroque chuch in the main square, with you in mind.

Apparently the guy who did it was not a trained architect - just a man with a great imagination, apparently working off postcard pictures of European churches. Laymen like me tend to love the church, but I've heard the cognoscenti tend to deride it as "baroquesque".
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Happy holidays, Jon. I'll be looking forward to those photos. I toured a number of Brazilian churches, particularly in Minas Gerias and it was an experience I still remember very well.
