I do the fundraising for our daughters school. The last project I did was make a photo album scrapbook for each class and auction them off at a ladies night. (Each album had a portrait of every child in the class, a decorated handprint and a few sentences about the child)

The lady who won my daughters class album paid $200 for it.

On friday she copied the album for me and gave it to me for Christmas to share with our daughter as a thank you for all the work I put into it.

I feel all warm and fuzzy. Awww...

That's cool, Jane. What a wonderful project you created; that must have been an enormous amount of work. But what a treasure. Wish I had something like that from my son's pre-school, or kindergarten year. Lots of the same kids are graduating high school together this year; would be great fun to look back on the early days.

Hey, that's John's job! :P

Nice story, Jane.

I will try, but it's going to require a little creative editing so it may take me a while

That's really sweet, Jane. And a great idea for a fundraiser! I don't think it would fly at my school, unfortunately. LAst year, parent council planned a spaghetti supper for $10 a ticket as a school fundraiser. They had to cancel it because not enough people were interested - they said "Spaghetti for $10! That's outrageous!"

Dol - It is a great fundraiser when you have some folks w more money than sense - we sold 3 albums and raised $400. However that is b/c of the type of person attending the do. I knew going into the event that there was no way I was going to get one!

In the spring we are going to use the photos again and just print off a sheet which has the childs individual portrait, the class photo and then the school logo and date and sell those for about $15 each. That might work better in your school.

It just requires someone to put the effort in taking the photos. We had one mother with a digital camera who would come onto the playground when the kids were outside and take pics of them. Then once the pics are on the disc there are so many different things you can do with them to raise money.
