For some reason, I don't mind being next to someone while they're smoking.

However, the smell that gets impregnated on their leather jackets....:puke: !!

Same here. It's the stale, lingering smell that I can't stand. I don't mind the fresh smoke at all, unless I'm eating.
And how are you today?

I used to be addicted to the smell of cigars ... I had a boss when I was just starting out who chain smoked 'em, and I had to sit in his office most of the day.

When he quit, I went through withdrawal.

Cigar smoke is a lot different than cigarette smoke--a good cigar has a nice aroma, cigarettes are universally bad.

Cigars are disgusting. I've always thought that "good cigar," was an oxymoron.

Cigarettes are disgusting. I smoke, and find them disgusting. LOL

That said, I smoke only when I'm outdoors, and when I'm away from nonsmokers. When I'm done, I flick the ember off and grind it out, and then throw the butt in a trashcan.

If I want to screw up my own health, that's one thing. I do my best not to inflict my habit on others, either in the form of stench or litter. Tennessee has only recently made smoking in restaurants illegal, but even when it was legal, I would sit in the nonsmoking sections.

I'm quitting soon. I just haven't gathered the will to take that first step, yet.

Daniel, congratulations on your one-year anniversary. That's a great accomplishment, and one that I am in envy of.

It's interesting to be in England with the smoking ban in effect now. Good thing, overall, but now smokers come into my pub and make it stink of stale smoke. It never did before because it was always a non-smoking pub so they never bothered to come in.
And how are you today?

My dad used to smoke a pipe. He kept the little tobacco pouch in his van.

I always loved that smell.

Frank, thank you. I know that you can quit too. You just have to be willing to see it through.
