HOLY CARP!!!

The clean lines. The light coloured wood used, the wood on the ceiling in your kitchen. The non-fussy cabinetry and furnishings. Your kitchen, especially. The blue Ikea rug, the Scandinavian looking furniture. The lack of kitschy knick knacks, bad wallpaper and huge furniture. It's a good thing, by the way, at least in my opinion.

The smallish front loading washing machine and matching dryer. Most our clothes washers are top loading. Beautiful house. Congratulations! ![]() |

Ah, finally someone recognizes the source of at least 60% of our furniture  Is there anything in this world that is more fun than assembling an Ikea cabinet at home? ![]() The table and the (non-matching) chairs, the floor lamp (9,90 Euro) and the glass on the table (12 glasses = 2,99 Euro) are also from Ikea. Just last week be bought 500 pieces of Glimme (for the non-Ikea experts: tealights) there - they are absolutly essential in every Scandinavian home  |

Ah yes, that's right. I read somewhere that American style top loaders are by construction inherently superior (with regard to reliability and result) to front loaders. Yet, for some reason, everybody has front loaders here, and top loaders have a quite bad reputation. I think you cannot even buy them in a normal store, because they would be shelf warmers. |

another advantage of front loader is u can stack a washer and dryer one on top of the other. |

We've got a front-loading washer and dryer, both on natural gas. |

That's what I've done with mine. They are brilliant; I'd never go back to the top loading type of washer. Front loaders work better, use less water, take up less space and are so much quieter.

I love Ikea! Ok, the year we put in our Ikea kitchen cupboards was a bit, er, stressful. But they are great.I think I have the same bag of tea lights. Ikea is the place to go for candles; I also buy boxes of their tapers. We use a lot of candles, and no one comes close to the price (not to mention cool colours) of what Ikea offers. |

No, no. Sue's right. Front loading washers get better results, use less water, and less electricity. We get Asko, Miele, and Bosch here (but they're expensive) and some American front loading machines, but this is relatively recent. Congratulations again. ![]() |
