Can't view the video, but my friend has a record player and lately we have been jamming out to everything from James Taylor to the Eagles to Chopin. Some pieces of music sound completely different and/or better on a record player.

You're not missing much.

An old 12-inch vinyl LP is on the floor.
A little toy VW bus looks like it is driving around in circles on the LP.

It is actually playing the record and you can hear the music.
Apparently the bus contains a needle, an battery-powered amp, and a speaker and the wheels make it move around in circles.

Very cheesy.

I just can't imagine how the needle could stay in the groove because the toy has so much mass.
I suspect it ain't real.

I remember my grandmother had an old record player. That's the last one I've ever seen.

It was red, white, and blue and folded up in its case so you could take it with you. Kind of weird -- a travel record player!

I have two turntables in my living room. One of them is only 2 weeks old - just got it. It's a gyrodec with an SME tone arm. Looks like the one below.

While I have a decent cd collection, there are some albums that haven't made it to digital.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

1.What amplifier do you use with the new turntable
2.Where do you get replacement "needles"

Threshold phono amp - Mark Levinson pre-amp and amp. The needles can't be easily replaced because of the nature of the cartridge. Audio store has them redone.
