In the consciousness of the truth he has perceived,
man now sees everywhere only the awfulness or
the absurdity of existence and loathing seizes him.

I still like the one of Billy punching Jeffrey in the mouth, and exclaiming, "I'm Rick James, bitch!!" :lol2:

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

Eleanor: At my age there's not much traffic anymore.

God is dead! God remains dead! And we have killed him.

An all-time favorite Nietzsche quote:

"Du gehst zu Frauen? Vergiss die Peitsche nicht!"

(You are going to women? Do not forget the whip!)

Many of his quotes are much better in the original than in the translation, in my opinion.

I find you need some backgound music in order to perceive all the subtle nuances in Family Circle.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

:sing: Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable.

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table.

David Hume could out-consume
Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, [some versions have 'Schopenhauer and Hegel']

And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.

There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.

Plato, they say, could stick it away--
Half a crate of whisky every day.

Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle.
Hobbes was fond of his dram,

And René Descartes was a drunken fart.
'I drink, therefore I am.'

Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker,
But a bugger when he's pissed.

I think it would have quite been an admission if you said Peitsche was part of your daily vocabulary.
