A recent comment about n00bs got me to thinking about some of the "old timers" here. I, for one, still consider myself a n00b around the likes of Deb, Jodi, Larry, TomK and others. I joined PW in fall of 2004, and posted a bit.

So, how long have you been posting on the forums (to the nearest year)?

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I dinna remember.

Actually, I can figure it out. I found Piano World when I was looking for, of all things, a piano. I bought the piano in September of ... 2004, I think. So, shortly before then.

I was on the original PW back in 99 when there were just a handful there.

I posted on RMMP a few time just to tangle with Larry

Really? I did too. I don't recall your posts there, but I do recall them in OCR.

Joined PW for the OCR in March ( I think) of 2004.

It was the only way, it seemed, to be able to converse with the little woman, as she was on it 24/7.

I had so much fun raggin' Jack and Kathy, I stuck around. :D

TomK was my first friend on OCR

Bernard still hates me.

Kenny talked me into buying a freakin' Hybrid. :thumb:

And this place... well, you just can't buy this kind of entertainment. :smooch:

I joined PW in Sept of 2004...so I didn't beat you by much, George. I wasn't all that active there. I took several months off completely, then Mary pointed me to this place after a time.

My 'main' forum has always been the one I moderate on Compuserve, but I don't post there as much as I used to. I still read and police, but I don't get to see too many Met shows these days, so I don't usually have a lot to say.

Nothing fancy. Just a Charles Walter upright.

At the time, I hadn't played ... ever ... and my kids were six, and it wasn't clear if the lessons were going to stick. So I decided to go with the upright, and to upgrade in a few years if they were still taking the lessons seriously.

One of them still is. (The other dabbles, but prefers to sing.) So, if she stays with it, I'll probably buy a grand in two or three years.

Excellent choice, Quirt. I've always been impressed with their responsiveness.

I'm a total noob - October 2005. Funny thing was I'd been lurking regularly on PW for maybe 2 years before it came over here - I can't imagine why. Oh sorry, did I say that out loud?

I posted on RMMP via dejanews.com and remarQ.com from the beginning of 1999. That was before a certain lfletc6143@aol.comnojunk came to the newsgroup and started to bully Steinway and Yamaha dealers.

Then I entered the Coffee Room and TomK called me an unfit mother. I definitely wasn't!

Norbert became my first enemy.
