No, if you were Crash, it would have went something like this:

M&Ms: I want to get my belly button pierced, but last time it got horrifically infected and LD hated it. The place I want to go to is disgustingly filthy and are in the process of being shut down due to health violations - I need to get in under the wire. Oh, and I'm pregnant, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to take it out in a couple months. Should I get one?

47 peoples responses: No, you shouldn't get one. It sounds dangerous, it's not the right time, and if LD hated it, maybe that's a concern as well.

M&Ms: I got my belly button pierced! It's oozing puss everywhere and hurts terribly. The doctor says that I'm getting gangrene. Should I take it out?

68 peoples responses: Yes, we told you so.

M&Ms: I just got home from the hospital because I ended up getting some bizarre infection from the rusted needle the piercer guy used. I had to take the piercing out, but I'm going back tomorrow cause he said he'll replace it for free! :D

If it weren't so true, it would be libelous.

I got my belly pierced when I turned 30. I love it (so does DH) but I've had a couple of infections when I've tried some cheap rings. But there are tons of rings to choose from, these days I've been wearing a dangle. So of course I say go for it.

I wanted opinions, just ones that verified what I wanted to do.

Plus, it gives me more to think about before I actually get it done.

Now that you've had time ....

No.

I personally think all elective disfigurements and mutilations of the human body should be banned.

If lip plates suddenly became vogue would you be considering that too?

Nope. I think belly rings are sexy. I think some nose rings are too, but I think having a ring in my nose is disgusting so I won't.

I've never liked the nose ring look, because it always looks to me like the person has a big booger, and you don't want to look too closely, and yet you kind of have to if you're talking to them. To each his own, but I sure don't find that a sexy look.
