Among the things people complain about New York: - $400/night hotels are called a bargain. - Water main breaks. - Exploding steam pipes. - Terrorist attacks. - The massive pits that envelop your car on the streets are called "potholes." - Despite what the mayor says, you can still get mugged here. Now we have.........Tornados. There was a tornado warning for my neighborhood this morning. They are saying that one actually touched down in Brooklyn. The same thing happened about the same time last year, and a little earlier this year. Whats next, avalanches? |

Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D | |

That movie had everything. All it needed was the USS Intrepid floating across town, and ramming the UN building. |

Since this thread got so much interest, I thought I would bump it. Here's the story in the NY Post.

"Any man who would make an X rated movie should be forced to take his daughter to see it". - John Wayne There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it". Wait until you are outside.. watching one go down the street three or four blocks away. I was at the pool hall when the warning came in, so we all went outside to see it. And they say New Yawkers are tough... |

I was on the tiny island of Cozumel for Hurricane Wilma, and she sat on top of us for sixty hours, raging so hard, she blew CNN's weather equipment right off of the airport. I reckon anything else is just anti-climactic, at this point. LOL |
