I just got some a grilled it -- yummy! Very light and refreshing, sweet and crunchy like an apple.

Has anyone else tried it?

HOLY CARP!!!
Never heard of it, but I like lots of different squash. Grilled squash sounds yummy.
Is this a small squash?

edit. I just googled them, looks like it could be something good. I'll have to see if I can round some up.

I had grilled zucchini squash, eggplant, and peppers for supper last night along with a pork chop and a fresh tomato. Very good.

I've never seen or even heard of chayote squash. Perhaps I'll see it at Whole Foods or a farmers' market as the range of vegetables and fruits being sold seems to be ever expanding. If I do, I'll try it.

Sue -- That's them -- sort of like misshapened pears, texture is sort of apply. I sliced them 1/4" thick, olive oil, balsamic, lemon juice, sea salt, and grilled. Very nice. Look for them.

Al -- I love grilling veggies -- mushrooms, sweet peppers, asparagus, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, onions, garlic, radicchio. Lately with jumbo shrimp or king crab legs.

Just wear gloves when you peel them.

 I didn't peel them, just sliced. Why gloves?
