NPR is not overly liberal. Some of it's folks are, but I find them to be fairly well balanced, all in all. At least they welcome differing viewpoints.

Funny the Liberal talk shows couldn't make a go of it even with GWB in all his glory.

NPR is doing ok.

NPR is liberal? Geez, who would have thought that? :hair:

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

With free government and foundation money anyone would be doing OK.

I meant in the "real world."

The foundations money isn't free - its advertising dollars.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

To an extent--But what has HHMI or the Ford Foundation or the John T and Catherine D, really have to sell?

Reputations of their board members.

But much of the money for NPR comes from 'corporate sponsors' (i.e. advertisers) these days. Gov and Foundation money is in the minority.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Be it '5' or '10', the challenge has been issued.
Go ahead, take the easier challenge that says '5'.
Put up or shut up.

So Larry (forgetting for the moment how short of half the membership of WTF appears in your list) - is it your assertion that each person on that list has announced that he or she will leave the country if a Republican wins in 2008?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

No question--but it's a club. Anyway--it's a far cry from Conservative (or Liberal) talk radio.

Though I heard a show called Weekend America on Saturday that had a bunch of panalists that said Obama's wacko statements on who and what he plans to bomb won't hurt his Presidential chances.

That was some interesting leftist dreaming.

I think it is really more academic than politically oriented.

They are already pretty remote for 2008.

(although I think the chance of him being president someday are better than even)
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

The WTF poll is open.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Democrats taking control of Congress was pretty much taken in stride by any Conservative you can point to.

Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh had hissy fits.

I listen to Hannity and didn't hear anything like that, and although perhaps I missed his show where he had a hissy fit...I doubt it came close to the liberal response to Bush's "mandate". In fact, they blamed the GOP for their internal screw-ups, their bad spending, and their forgetting of conservative values.

I actually listen to it without much trouble.

Randy Rhodes on the other hand, I could reach through the radio and strangle.
A GREAT Liberal radio station in NYC is (was) WBAI Pacifica Radio. At least before all their lawsuit troubles. Psycho Liberals-too crazy to hate.

The only radio station I listen to is Boston's NPR station WGBH. The rest is absolute and total crap designed for tone-deaf cretins.

Or am I just being elitist?
