What would you do if you woke up on November 5th, 2008 and Hillary was the president-elect?

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Go on about my business as usual. Why, what did you expect? Jump out a window or something?

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

Yup.

We're not Liberals, we're not going to move to Canada or anything. (Nothing wrong with Canada--it's just not our home.)

pique's Liberal brother moved to Canada when GWB got elected. Those kinds of people are of another sort. Not like us. America's our country, for good or ill.

What do you mean if?

I can't imagine her not winning, there's just no way.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Nothing different. I'd support her as President of our country, just as I said I would have supported Kerry had he won in 2004. If I were significantly invested in the stock market, I might examine some key investments to see if/how they might be affected, but that's about it.

I wouldn't threaten to leave the country or demand recounts.

I'm not conservative, or American, but I might go back to Canada - particularly if she starts screwing around with NAFTA.

:P
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Like Deb, I'd have a bowl of McCann's Irish Oatmeal with raisins, pecans and a little brown sugar.

The I'd sit there and wait for her Presidency to implode.

I'd shrug, shake my head, and heave a long, sad sigh... Then I would just go work, like any normal day, and hope that during her term, she doesn't f'ck things up too badly. Pretty much the same way I've dealt with every new president since Mr. Reagan left office.

If that's true, I feel bad for them. I wish they would realize that we aren't affected *that* much by the president. Sure the prez makes a million key decisions which affect us on various levels, but never to the point that one should leave their country in fear or shame.

Nothing in particular.

I'm just trying to get you guys accustomed to the idea so that no one does anything rash.

They are more affected than effected. It's more of a "statement" than anything else. It's the same reason they are unhappy the suge is going well. I would be supremely disquieted by my fellowships if I was a Liberal.
