Hey guys and gals, I know I disappeared for a while from the forum, but I'm back and hopefully I'll do better at keeping up with things while I'm at work. :-) My relationship just ended and he sold the house we were living in. I need a home for my piano until I get my own place, which is probably going to take a while. I'm moving back in with my parents, and they don't have the room, since they got their own piano when I moved out with mine. Does anyone know someone in the NY area who might take great care of my baby until I can give her a home? If not, does anyone know of reasonably priced, climate-controlled storage that would be good for my baby? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks! |

Oh wow, it really HAS been a while. I've been back in NYC since mid-December last year. We lasted a whole 3 months in Rochester before losing both our jobs. We were spending many weekends in our house, still, after coming back to NYC to work, but the relationship really fell apart and now I've lost the house too. I'm working in NYC and commuting from my parents which is about an hour north of the city. |

Good luck, Chris, sorry to hear about the break up. Tell us about the piano, and how long you expect to need a sitter. |

It is a beautiful new big Petrof Grand, model III I think. I heard it at a piano party years ago in NY. It is a sweet piano. I didn't get to play it, there was some little piano hog glued to it. You should hear Christopher play; he's amazing. |

Sorry to hear about the relationship, Christopher. I guess Vancouver is a bit far away for piano-sitting, eh? Hope you and your piano can find a home together soon. |

Chris! Glad to see you again but sad to hear of your life changes.... Perhaps you should PM/email Bernard! Maybe he would be willing to move a few bookcases or know so someone who can take your baby for a bit. Don't be a stranger! |

I have some room. Free of charge except I get to play the piano daily and of course I would keep it tuned and very well maintained. Trouble is I am about 800 miles from NYC. But! I do have the room. |

Chris, so sorry to hear about these developments. Best of luck finding a place for your baby. Perhaps you could talk to a dealer about storage? |

If you find someone to store it used or unused just insist on all the usual requiements. No sunlight, open windows air conditioner or heater vents etc. Do you have a dammpchaser? Might be a good idea, with your offer to come over and fill it up, and change the pads, regularly. |

Gotta play catchup now: IT - My piano is a Petrof Model III, ebony polish, in perfect condition, recently voiced, absolutely gorgeous sound. BeeLady - I will do just that. I haven't seen nor heard from Bernard since his last piano party in which you, Kenny, and I all attended. Kenny - I love my piano, but she would be intimidated by your piano. Blue's bigger. (Size Queen) justme - Hi back! I haven't been over at the WTF - I can barely keep up with this forum, nevermind two! Mik - I may wind up doing just that. Kenny (reply 2) - I don't have a damppchaser, I've done well with keeping the room constant. George - You're right. I know about 3-4 other couples who've broken up after long-term relationships this month alone. It's sad. Thanks for the support. Kenny (reply 3) - I think the term you're looking for is "bittersweet". |

Yes it's true, I have a big one. The enormous size is only scary to look at. But after you get used to it there is nothing but pleasure. |

Chris - sorry to hear about your relationship. Reach out to Chris Quinn. There's a friend of his named Jonathan whom I've met thats a wonderful pianist but doesn't have a piano. I'm sure he'd 'store' it for you and take great care of it - as long as he has the space. If not him, Chris may know of some other possibilities. Don't be a stranger. You missed the mother-of-all piano parties here in June, by the way. |
