Question for Women: Influence on attraction

It's obvious that men find women attractive based highly on looks - but I have found that for women it is a bit different.

Perhaps having to do with instincts, aside from just good looks women seem to add other attributes when finding a man desirable - such as what influence he may have that can help her (money or enough to support her) and some personality attributes such as confidence.

Is this a correct perception? Obviously looks still play a role in attraction for women, but I would guess it's a lot less important than for men.

A poor, shy woman that's really attractive will still be so for a man - but I figure that for a woman, a poor and shy man that's good looking will be more negatively affected in her eyes but his reduced ability to either support her or charm her.

While there are certainly guys that I'll look at and find attractive on that alone, it's rare. I'm much more likely to be attracted to someone because of personality - sense of humour being key. If I'm attracted to personality, average looks become absolutely stunning in my eyes.

I need sense of humour, warmth, and a sense of uniqueness I can't really describe in order to be truly attracted to a guy. And then, of course, there are immediate turn offs - flashiness, true cockiness, too much importance placed on worrying about what other people view them - all of those are deal-breakers. Then no matter how physically attractive they might look in a photo, I don't see it AT ALL.

If he has those qualities AND a red ferrari, then it's a done deal!

And I'm the opposite - I'm turned off by cars that scream power. A nice car is fine - but those status symbol cars have negative connotations for me.

It does, indeed, do that...

And then some...

No airbags, no ABS, no roll up windows...

Just speed...

And lots of it... :hearts:

165...

My 16 year old daughter and I take it out once a week for exercise...

On the stretch where I open it up we normally reach about 135...

12 mpg, though...

10 mpg if you have a heavy foot...

One of the most uncivilized cars I've ever driven...

Exactly my type of car... :hearts: :hearts:

Gee, I'm kinda enjoying the foreplay here...

400 hp/ 462 ft/lb torque...

(new ones are now 600 hp)...

10 cylinders, 488 cu.in. engine, side pipes every woman hates 'cause they tend to burn their calf when getting out of the car...

However, it DOES have some of the sexiest lines of any car made...

Crash, women know that MPG and unit size are directly proportional.

I thought the old saw was "inverse proportionality"...

However, there are exceptions to every rule... :sombrero:

That's similar to what Jennifer Flowers said in her Penthouse interview just after Bill Clinton was elected in 1992...

"What he lacked in stature he made up for with enthusiasm"...

Also why it 's called the Washington Monument...

And not the Clinton Monument...

Again, I'll try & keep quiet so the ladies can speak...

My cousin is a mechanic. He's got a 68 Ford truck with 4 full sized doors that belonged to his father. A truck with 4 full sized doors is a big, long truck. His truck looks like hell. His father was a race car mechanic. My cousin learned a lot from his father. They built the engine in that truck together.

Some time back we were driving along in it when a guy with a red Viper came up behind us, got right against the rear bumper, then passed us. My cousin said "let's see what he's got in that thing", and floored it. It also might be important that I point out the fact that my cousin also races cars as a hobby. He caught the viper by the next turn, passed it on the next straightaway, and with the guy in the Viper giving it all it had, we left the Viper in the dirt like it was a whimpering little econobox. Just sucked the paint right off it.

I gotta tell you, I AM interested in hearing not only what younger women want in a guy...

But what goes on with those desires as they get older...

I don't know about you, larry, but my experience is that men & women diverge like a fork in the road when they get past child-bearing age...
