Aka, those who log in anonymously. For example, right now, there are three anonymous members. It is easy to see who they are, based on who is posting, yet not on the member list. There are certain people who are always logged in anonymously. What are the benefits to this? |

"Any man who would make an X rated movie should be forced to take his daughter to see it". - John Wayne There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it". Henry II: I marvel at you after all these years. Still like a democratic drawbridge: going down for everybody. Eleanor: At my age there's not much traffic anymore. From The Lion in Winter. | |

I have an anonymous sock-puppet who responds to all my jokes with many   and and occasionally tells me he me.Last week he posted the smiley after making some feeble attempt at humour, an emoticon which has always irritated me enormously, so I killed him. Obviously I didn't actually kill him as he's just me in disguise, but I did spank him quite hard. |

You and Kenny can have as much jolly time as you like, but he is still not your sock.

I make a conscious point of being among the anonymous. I feel that it is nobody's g.d. business whether I am on line or not. |

Sometimes I am so clueless. And in this case I don't want to expend the small amount of mental energy necessary to figure it out myself so ...... What do you mean "log in anonymously." ??? Don't you have to log in under your account in order to post? Isn't everybody else just a, a, a, lurker. |

You can log in under your account anonymously. So it will not say on the main page that you are logged in. |

There’s a game called something like How to Host a Murder where you cook a prescribed meal and serve it among guests around a table (usually the meal is not supposed to be the murder weapon) who each have their parts, as in a reader’s theatre play. I wonder? Perhaps I should invent a sock puppet who would be something of my complete opposite, my nemesis. Let it become as obnoxious, especially to me, as possible. Then when I’ve had enough of it, I could publicly kill it, right here on TNCR. You know, and don’t deny it, there is something deep in the reptilian brain of most humans that is fascinated by death and what leads up to it. It used to be the stock of many plots in grand opera too, so don’t tell me I’m not onto something. Why don’t I try it? Because I believe that there are probably other members of this forum that would be better at it than I. Am I suggesting that I too am fascinated by what leads inevitably to something’s (someone’s) demise? I’ve watched quite a few murder mysteries in my time, read perhaps even more, until I got tired of the genre. Then there’s real news which these days seems about as surreal as the most insane character dramas depicted as fiction. Eh? |

Anonymity has its charms. There is one guy who posted a few times on PW and he noticed my AOL account admin ID - now every time i go on ethere to do something he wants to 'chat'. Ugh. |
