HOLY CARP!!!
Ohhhh! The Thrill of rearending Crash. Posted Image

. . . I didn't think it was possible but I just topped my all-time record.

I just filled up.
It took me a while to find the gas station since it’s been so long.

I just went 698.3 miles on 10.352 gallons of gas.

My new full-tank record is 67.5 MPG! :hair:

Last record of 67.0 was set back in July 2006 when it was HOT.

Now my lifetime average over 28 tanks is 63.4 MPG

so Kenny - how do you get your electricity? does the car generate it? is it from a plug in the wall? is the electricity from a nuclear power plant? coal fired plant? hydroelectric? has your electric bill gone up?

-apple, who is thinking a hybrid would be an excellent idea if electricty were cheap.

HOLY CARP!!!
apple you don't plug them in.
Never.
You couldn't plug it in if you wanted to.
There is no plug.

When you use the brakes the wheels are instantly connected to a generator under the hood.
The rotating wheels turns the generator to make electricity. (it also helps you slow down so your brake pads last longer)

The electricity it makes during braking is sent to a battery pack behind the back seat.
A moment later when the light turns green it uses that electricity to power an electric motor under the hood which helps you accelerate.

So a hybrid just converts the kinetic energy of a ton of moving metal into electricity instead of wasting it by turning it into heat in the brake pads like regular cars.

You never plug a hybrid car in.

All you have to do is put gas in it (seldom) and drive it like a regular car.

The way you build it up, you would have thought you hadn't filled up since February.

I mean, if you forget where the gas station is after 18 days, maybe fuel consumption shouldn't be your biggest concern.

Kenny has to stop at the gas station to pump some back.

Ohhhh! The Thrill of rearending Crash.

Nope. I'm not going to say it. Too obvious.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

Currently I am driving a rental car which also gets approximately 70 MPG: A Smart Diesel. I wonder whether they are sold in the US, too. They are small but cool cars.
