Do you every have a playing session where you are warmed up, the piano is in tune, voiced and regulated, it sounds lovely, and the lid is up. you are alone, or not bothered. You play several of the pieces that you have in your fingers and everything just falls into place? The stars are aligned. The piano sings. The music just happens, and it is worth all that work. That is tonight! How glorious, when it happens. Do you ever just soar as your piano carries you away? |

I do quite a bit of soaring even when the conditions are not nearly so ideal as you describe. That is what music is for me. |

Yeah, that happens. Usually when I am in deep thought about something - generally picking up chicks. (They keep falling down, hmrf!) |

Definitely. Like Deb said: This is what music and playing the piano IS for me. My drug of choice... ![]() I also agree, though: There are times when things just really really fall into place, when you're playing so far over your own head that as you play, you are delighted and amazed with it -- How it seems the very greatest and wondrous magic in the world.... Um.. Yeah, it's kinda' okay....

Quite a pleasure to play after not doing so for twenty years. Also, I found an instructor who is willing to take me. He's known for being tough and strict.
