...a school cannot leave the advertising signs on its outfield fences during regional tournament play.

Why?

Money could corrupt amateur athletics.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

HOLY CARP!!!
the ncaa is among the most corrupt organizations in the world and among the most puritanical about the standards it holds its members to. It is a colossal joke.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

The ncaa wants to be able to sell 'cleaner' ad space, and doesnt want the teams selling their own ads. My guess.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

This is the outfit that has allowed us (William & Mary) to retain our nickname, the tribe, but which has forced us on pain of post-season death to get rid of the hostile and abusive team symbol of two green and gold feathers. Our problem is that all of the native American "tribes" in the area are not yet federally recognized, so the NCAA gave their testimony on behalf of retaining the feather logo no weight. Meanwhile, down in Florida, the seminole warrior will continue charging around the stadium throwing flaming spears in the ground. Yeah, a really consistent bunch.

Well one of these days the Irish will go after Notre Dame and then all will be set straight.
