While this is very close to me, I am not involved in this case. It is frightening to me how one individual can allow the Chinese to advance decades in development with a single CD-ROM.

The info was not classified, but export restricted, so the Chinese probably didn't gain any info they couldn't have gotten through other means.

Still, I hope this guy is punished to the fullest extent.

That's what the media says, but my understanding is that this advances the chinese technology 20 years. BTW, I do believe (based on what I've heard from folks that testified in the case) that some of the info he has was in fact NOFORN and Confidential.
