HOLY CARP!!!
I mentioned in the thread where George was telling about his friend who had leukaemia that i was soon to be doing a sponsored Singathon to raise money for The Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity who raises money and awarness for patients with leukaemia, to try and help them find bone marrow donars and to fund research into possible other treatments.

Well, i did the Singathon on the 1st of April (i don't yet have any photos because they are on my uncle's camera and he hasn't sent me them yet) and have just finally got the last of the sponser money in and written a cheque to the Trust.

I raised £191.11 (about $380) and it has been sent with a dedication to your friend, George. I hope he finds the strength to fight his illness and finds a matching donar.

He is in my thoughts.

Thanks, Princess. You're too sweet.

Dave came home the other day, after almost two months in the hospital. From reading his posts, I've been able to discern that he's had two rounds of chemotherapy, the second one being necessary because the first didn't do the job of eliminating the leukemic progenitor cells (the "blasts"). He's scheduled to have another bone marrow biopsy this week to see if round #2 has done it.

He also posted something a bit more ominous: they're going to give him intrathecal (that means into the spinal canal) chemotherapy. That can only mean that there's evidence that the leukemia is also involving his central nervous system. That's not good.

He's lost all his hair, and gained about 40 lb. of water with the treatments. Nevertheless, being home is good.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.
