HOLY CARP!!!
I'm having a grocery dilemna. When I'm actually cooking stuff (rather than the frozen premade route) I like to use lots of fresh ingrediants. But I hate going to the grocery store to prepare for each meal because 1) I'm tired at the end of the day and hate going and 2) I impulse buy and spend money I don't need to. Just curious what everyone else does.

Grocery shopping is one of my least favorite things. Wish there were better, smaller grocery stores around.

I hate grocery shopping. But, I love to cook. I only grocery shop for special occasions but I send Mark to the store almost daily.

I stop at Whole Foods every Friday on the way home for a meal or two, fruit and wine. Then I do the real shopping at a much more affordable place near home on Saturday morning. With main dishes, we ususally have them in the order that is determined by freshness: Fish right away, checken next, beef can wait....We tend to have salads and I get Romaine lettuce--that keeps well.

There is always a mid-week grocery run to get milk. I buy a dozen eggs every Monday from a co-worker with hens.

I try to go to town once a week and do a grocery store shop; cereal, dairy, a few meat choices to freeze, canned tomato stuff, paper stuff... and then I go to our local places to get fresh veg/fruit and the endless jugs of milk. Every day or two. I'm torn, because I hate the shopping, but I like really fresh veg and fish. So whatta you do?

Whole Foods is dangerous when you're hungry. At the least the one near here is; all the ready made goodies, mountains of cheese, etc. You can sure part with a lot of money in there. :P

They say not to grocery shop hungry.

But grocery shopping is only enjoyable when you are hungry.

We shop about once a week, but it always seems I need something during the week for some new recipe I'm trying out. Now that we are following a low carb, high protein diet and I'm making a ton of new stuff, I seem to need something additional almost every day. Fortunately hubby will stop on his way home from work for me, so it works out.

ZOOOOOM!
I chose the last one, since maybe one meal out of 5 I actually have to pay for, and one out of 10 I pay full price.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

i shop regularly for staples.. meat, cheese, flour, frozen veggies, noodles, rice, nuts, detergents, toiletries ( at a warehouse type store) - i have my sources for indian, oriental, mexican, bulk, sausage and spices.. i go to to those places about once every 2 - 4 months and buy enough to last a while. i have a huge freezer and well stocked pantry/larder

i buy salad ingredients and milk every other day or so. i hate unfresh milk
