don't tell everyone they will get crap service at a larger bank -- not true for us!

I have a credit line with BofA, so they regularly pitch a checking account to go with it.

I read over their last proposal, got to "teller visit fees" and stopped. Teller visit fees? You have to pay a fee every time you go to a bank teller?

No way.

And have you experienced one of their famous "10 day deposit holds" yet? I did - and it's why I moved to a small local bank. They don't do that.

Have they lost a deposit yet? They will - and when they do, you won't get credit for it for a minimum of six weeks - this after you present the cancelled check to them for verification.

Small banks rock.

teller? what's a teller? :D

those fees only apply to certain kinds of checking accounts (and there's a variety of account options). i've never had a checking account that had teller fees.

There’s an ING Direct in my city. I stopped in for the first time yesterday. Don’t go looking for any bank tellers though because there aren’t any. Banking transactions must be done on the internet.

It’s a café. They serve coffee and offer WIFI internet. The store is all decked out in (what else) an orange motif color. I’m wondering if combination bank/cafés are next?
