95% of balance is due on delivery of components to jobsite? That sounds like a recipe for disaster. It's been a while since I've done a resi contract, but I don't think the 20% ARO (down payment) thing would comply with CA contracting law, either. Permits will be a real challenge in some municipalities, and I can't imagine a construction lender going for the payment schedule. The concept could work, but it has a ways to go yet. Meantime, I'd avoid 'em. |
