Yet another iPod question

I attempted to turn off my iPod and instead it is now frozen partway between the option of "songs" in the menu and flipping over to list the songs. When I plugged it back into the computer thinking that would fix it, it continues to be frozen. It will not do anything, and it will not shut down.

What is wrong NOW? This thing is frustrating the bejesus outta me!

Press either the top and the middle together, or the bottom and the middle together (I forget which), and hold it for a couple of seconds. That should cause the little beast to reboot.

HOLY CARP!!!
You cannot turn an iPod off.

It turns off by itself.

What Quirt said about resetting it.

Is it safe to unplug it from the computer to do this? when I try to disconnect it, I get the message "The device Apple iPod USB Device cannot be stopped because a program is still accessing it."

I've been getting this message for about an hour and am hesitant to unplug it.

You're welcome. That was an easy one; for more difficult problems, George is the resident iPod guru, but I suppose he's gassing someone at the moment.
