I haven't had a chance to wash it (you would not believe how cold it is in Northern England right now  ) so it is very, very dirty but please just ignore that. ^_^

Cute ride!

What is that gated arch in the back yard, second picture?

HOLY CARP!!!
It's the old railway line.

We live right on top of an old coal mine (closed down decades ago) and there was a railtrack that ran right across the boundary of our house. It's like a complete secret garden. It's hidden away right in the corner of our house and in the summer, when all the trees and plants and flowers are in full bloom, it gets almost completely hidden and it is like finding a secret passage into another world. ^_^

The arch is the access below the rail (the track was on top of the arch - it's not there anymore now) and it leads through a short tunnel down onto acres and acres of fields and a huge natural pond/marsh. I love living in the country! ^_^

When it snows, it is the most magical sight.

Uh, Caroline...you do realize the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car, don't you? ;)

Nice car -- love that shade of blue.

Nice iPod -- just like mine, except mine is black. I haven't been able to figure out how to put music into mine yet. It's very frustrating.

It's Grey/Black, not blue! :P

And your nano... have you hooked it up to your computer yet? If not, when you do, go on iTunes and it will give you options like 'Manual Manage', 'Auto Sync' and something else.

If you want to select which ones specifically you want- click Manual Manage and then just move your playlists onto the little iPod graphic on the left hand menu list.

If you want everything on, just click on Auto Sync then it will do it all for you and everytime you go on iTunes with your Nano, it will update it.

Hope that helps.... :)

Oh, I think it was constructed carefully enough.

Caroline, I grew up in a neighborhood in the country too, surrounded by farms and fields and ponds and streams. There were enough houses that there were plenty of kids to explore them with. It was great, and I know what you mean about a secret garden.

I do love living in the country, but by God i can't wait to move to London.

I LOVE big cities. :singdance:

I think the country is nice to escape to and come back to for holidays, not to live in permanently. Not at 18, anyway. :P

There'll be time enough for more country living when you have kids of your own. That's what we're doing, but when Lauren goes to school, like I said, I think Janet and I will be headed for the Windy City and uptown condo living.

My aunt (mom's brother's wife) is from Watford. She was born in Cairo, Egypt, but her family is in England and France. I also have an online friend in Pinner. He took a pic of Elton's school and sent it to me when I was depressed.

Nice pics, btw. My iPod will need a new battery soon as it doesn't hold a charge as well as it used to. I got it two years ago for Christmas.

See, I see the opposite. I loved visiting New York, but prefer to live in the suburbs. Living in the suburbs is the best of both worlds. You have half city stuff, half country stuff, and you can escape to the country and the city if you need to! :P
