My son figured it out all by himself and he's only 5. For his next trick, he's going to speak to the church elders and set them straight on a few things.

Was this him?

Santa Hat-Wearing Bus Driver Allowed to Keep Job.

A Santa hat-wearing school bus driver on Long Island, N.Y., has won the right to keep wearing his festive headgear, Newsday reported.

Kenneth Mott, who keeps a long, white beard, almost lost his job after a parent called the bus management to complain. Mott, who has worn the red and white hat every Christmas since he started with the Bauman & Sons bus company five years ago, was ordered to stop wearing the hat because a child didn't believe in Santa Claus and was bothered by the hat.

"I said, 'What, are you kidding me?'" Mott recalled. "I thought it was a big joke," Newsday reported.

However, after Mott told other parents he might be fired for wearing the hat, supervisors changed their stance and said he could continue to wear the hat.

We're actually more than a little worried that he's going to be the kid that tells everybody else.

Sometimes, fat, dumb and happy is better. Anyway, back to my chips.

One of the parents in my kids' third grade class is desperately worried about that, too.

But they're already telling each other about sex, so Santa is the least of our problems.

Tying together this thread, and the one about those cork-suckers* at Disney. Santa is apparently considered a 'Disney character'.

Quote:

Disney tells Santa clone ho-ho no

Mr Worley said he was told Santa was a Disney character
When James Worley paid a visit to Disney World in Florida his portly frame and white beard soon had kids asking: "Are you Santa Claus?"
Not wanting to disappoint, Mr Worley, 60, played along with some "ho-ho-hos".

But Disney officials descended, telling him to stop the impersonation or get out of the park. They said they wanted to preserve the magic of Santa.

Mr Worley took off his red hat and red shirt but said: "I look this way 24/7, 365 days a year. This is me."

'Confusing'

Even after bowing to the request to alter his appearance, Mr Worley, from Tampa, said children continued to ask if he was Santa.

"How do you tell a little kid, 'No, go away, little kid'," Mr Worley told local television.

He said Disney had told him "Santa was considered a Disney character".

Officials at Disney World's Epcot park said they had had complaints from "several guests who were very upset".

Disney said it had its own Santa at Epcot and Mr Worley was "confusing" the children.

Mr Worley said he had played a jolly elf at charity events for a number of years, while his wife sometimes dressed up as Mrs Claus.

Mr Worley said he still loved Disney and Christmas.

Okay, just read 89th's article.

It says "Students, some as young as nine"

I didn't think nine-year-olds would still believe in Santa??

In grade one, our kids write letters to Santa with the help of my grade 7 and 8s. We do a huge thing before about how these kids still believe, and the grade 7 and 8s take it VERY seriously. Then, once the letters are "mailed", my kids get copies and write back as Santa's elves. We talk about what kinds of things to say to make sure they don't let the cat out of the bag. We do it on fancy stationary and use special seals to seal the letters closed, and put them in a huge decorated envelope addressed from the North Pole. We even get the huge envelope of letters postmarked so it looked authentic. My kids love being part of the Santa game, and the grade ones are so excited to get their mail from Santa.

We have so much fun with it that I can't imagine doing anything to destroy that!

Watching a small childs eyes light up on Christmas morning as they catch their first glimpse of the booty under the tree from Santa has always been the best part of Christmas for me as an adult.

Why anyone would want to destroy the magic of that time in a childs life is beyond me. They have all their lifes to deal with the reality of life, why take the fantasy and magic of that time away? I wanted my children to experience the magic as long as possible. And when it was gone, I was truly disappointed.

But... now there's grandkids. :D :thumb:
