And he rejects the offer.

As much as it's predicted to grow and how the offer may have been too low, business-speaking....

...I'm sorry, take the damn money and run. You never know if a PR nightmare is around the corner, if a virus is about to destroy your network, you just dont know.

ONE BILLION DOLLARS!!!

How in the HELL can he turn that down?

I feel like he's a contestant on Deal or No Deal, and he just rejected the banker's offer, because he might get a little more...or he might just LOSE IT ALL.

What a n00b.

I sometimes watch the game, if it's near the end of a round.

However there is NO SKILL involved, so I lose interest quickly.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Yeah, well we get Howie Mandel imitating a rapper. Ick.

I would think the form of the offer would be the deciding factor. If it were mostly. which is likely, there would be limitations on when and how one could sell it.. all that stuff. It could, believe it or not, be undesireable.

So as to not hijack the hijack...I like Howie Mandel. It's one of my favorite TV personalities...even though he's a MAJOR germaphobe. Just like Aqua thinks I am!

seems pretty rational assuming he has all the money he could ever want (very likely if Yahoo is offering him 1B for his business) and he enjoys owning it all for himself and teh autonomy that allows. If the chance of it becoming worthless is substantial then I'd agree he's irrational, but Yahoo seems not to think there's a good chance of that, or they wouldn't be offering that much for it.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

We've seen this before. He's holding out for even more. That's kind of world we live in. People don't have any humility about money- not even a billion dollars. People like my mother get a 1% "cost of living" raise and have their contracts renegotiated so they can work more years being being able to retire but we have an endless stream of reports about $600,000 Christmas bonuses and America's 500th billionaire who will not settle for a billion dollars. The media lap dog whores will be along saying he earned it by making everything better for the rest of us. Cut to ten minutes of escapist fantasy about jewels, and cars, and Park Avenue real estate. I saw the same report on the news last night. I will be watching the same report again two days from now.

Well, FWIW, I'm glad he turned it down. I'm sure Yahoo could do some nice things, but the site keeps getting more and more public and more and more easily searchable (and Yahoo would take it to a whole new level, I'm sure) -- which is contrary to why I joined it in the first place.
