IT and I leave on the 23rd for our three-week trip to London and Paris. Send a PM to either of us if you'll be in the area and want to get together.

Hooray -- three weeks vacation starting this Saturday!!! :woot:

:(

I usually am, but not this year.

My best friend from England and her mom are here for a week, though, so it's alright.
And how are you today?

even though i lived in london for a year and visited frequently when i had family living there, i've never spent Christmas in london.

we arrive on dec. 24 and are attending a Carols by Candlelight concert in Royal Albert Hall that evening.

I'll probably be in London the week of the 2nd (although it could be the following week). When will you be in London?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

That sounds absolutely magical. I can imagine London at Christmas will be so beautiful.

I remember the strings of blue lights where we stayed (south end of Westminster Bridge); walking along the water and looking across....it was beautiful in the summer, and I can just imagine how much more so it would be at this time of year.

Enjoy!

Tips for foreign visitors in Great Britain:

1. On entering a railway carriage, be sure to shake hands with all passengers.

2. All London brothels display a blue lamp.

We're in London December 24 - 31.

Then we're traveling west to see friends -- Bath, Wells, etc. Then we're off to Paris. Back in London on the 11th for a couple of days.

when i lived in london in 2001-2002, some guys were chatting me up on a train to Surrey and noticed after I spoke several words that i have an American accent. they seemed quite surprised and one said, "you don't look American."

was that a compliment?

Actually, we just realized we are at London Waterloo for a couple of hours on January 4th. We're catching the Eurostar to Paris at 1:40 pm.

If you have time for lunch, let us know.
