Transparent yet warm voice. Bass balanced with other sections. Silky easy to control action. Remarkable ability to get melody lines to hover above the other notes. . . . if I may say so myself.

Hm, Yamaha is ok, but I'm talking about on the highest level here - Fazioli, Bosendorfer, etc. |

Eh, Yamaha concert grand is ok, but it doesn't have that full warm sound that Bosendorfer or a Fazioli have. |

Why do you want "full and warm sound" for Bach and Mozart? Go for precision and crispness. Besides, I don't find Bösendorfer's sound "full" or "warm" at all, and Fazioli is Yamaha on steroid -- steroid that I don't think Bach or Mozart needs at all. |

Bach and/or Mozart would sound good on a four piece kazoo band. Y'all are flyspecking. |

What is your opinion/experience of Bosendorfer and Fazioli? Could you go a little bit more indepth? |

So far I prefer the tone of the Bosie over the Faz, which to me borders on cold/bright. Are you shopping? |

Yes, starting too - so far my biggest experience has been with Steinway. I have to play more of the big brands, but they are definitely rarer to come across than Steinway as we all know. I know the sound that I like as soon as I hear it. I like a nice bass, but at the moment I really enjoy the Mozart type of singing tone in the middle register to the low-upper register or so. |

What he said! You have an advantage over many buyers insofar as you can play well yourself. See what you like+go from there. say, anyone else notice a lot of 'piano' threads going on here lately? |

If you can swing it buy your "final" piano first. I don't just mean brand, but size too. Upgrading wastes money. |
